If we aren't reporting about his homophobic slurs, we're reporting about Anele dragging him through the mud for offensive comments - albeit he apologises.
This time he's had to issue an apology to listeners and members of the LGBTIQ+ community after using a derogatory and transphobic phrase on his morning show on Radio 2000.
On Tuesday, in a conversation about Cardi B, Phat Joe used the word "tranny".
In 2018, Cardi B came under fire after a meme with a transphobic slur was posted on her facebook page.
Phat Joe was slammed for using the same derogatory term this week and apologized on Thursday, claiming he did not know that the word was offensive.
"When I used the word I was actually paraphrasing what Cardi B said. She used that particular word and I was chastising her for the message in her video. I did not know that the word was a no-no," Phat Joe said on air.
He further stated that many people still needed educating when it comes to such words and proceeded to introduce a caller who attempted to educate him about this word.
