

South African film Tell Me Sweet Something, starring Nomzamo Mbatha and Maps Maponyane, has received some major praise abroad.
The film won Best Narrative Feature at the Blackstar Film Festival.
The movie’s director, Akin Motoso, took to social media to reveal the exciting news.
“The Award Comes Home. Thank You @blackstarfest For An Amazing Festival,” he captioned the image.
The film festival “is a celebration of cinema focused on work by and about people of African descent in a global context”.
Tell Me Sweet Something was a major box office success in South Africa.
The movie, which earned a whopping R2-million at cinemas across the country.
It was also nominated for nine awards at the 2016 African Movie Academy Awards in June.
