“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” posted AKA and Zalebs took to the comment section to show AKA some love and support.
“THE MULTI-TALENTED REAL SUPA MEGA BHOVAMANIA!! ✊🏽 sinawe boy” commented Zulu Makhathini.
The rapper lost his girlfriend in April after she reportedly fell from the 10th floor of the upmarket Pepper Club Hotel in Cape Town. She was declared dead on the scene following attempts from paramedics to save her life.
During Nelle’s funeral service at the Durban ICC, in her father’s eulogy titled, “The reflections of a heartbroken father and a farewell to a beloved daughter," he revealed that Nellie was never at any point in her life suicidal.
"I was neither there when Anele met her fate last Sunday. I neither seek to attack any person, nor cast aspersions, nor create suspicions nor stigmatise any mental condition, however, I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative go unchallenged. A narrative which is maliciously purveyed in some circles that Anele, my daughter, was chronically suicidal or had suicidal tendencies.”
Speaking for the first time following Nellie’s passing, the Supa Mega issued an official statement which reads as follows. “I have lost the love of my life...and every day feels like a mountain to climb. I miss Anele, so much and I'm heartbroken at the unfulfilled life we had planned together.”
The rapper went on to reveal that the untimely passing of Nellie has taken a huge toll on him and he has chosen to take some time off from the time light.
“The tragic loss of Anele has taken a great toll on me emotionally and psychologically. Insinuations and innuendos made on my personhood have made it even more difficult to process, and the strain our families have taken is unspeakable. Which is why at this time I choose to retreat to honour my journey, praying that the moments of stillness may bring me closer to some clarity,” he added.
AKA went on to thank everyone for the continued support in these difficult times.
