Anele Zondo Bids Farewell To Massiv Music After 4 Years

One of Mzansi’s most loved influencers, presenter, and actor Anele Zondo has announced that she will be bidding farewell to Channel O’s music show, Massiv Music, a platform that was her first on-screen presenting gig since 2017. Anele has since grown to become a musician, actress, and social media influencer boasting over 745K followers on Instagram.

Anele Zondo also known as Ney The Bae started shadowing the two Massive Music co-presenters Lalla Hirayama and Smash Afrika before becoming a full-time presenter on the show. She had made short televisions before such as the MTV Base VJ Search, a reality competition show seeking to find the next hot thing on television, she made the top 10.


Since then she has grown her repertoire and is now a musician with her radio hit β€œIngwe” with musician Given Zulu. She has also made cameos as a support on 1Magic soapie by Ferguson Film The River where she played Faith for 2 seasons. In 2020, Anele was announced as the new host of the SABC1 reality competition series One Mic, replacing Bontle Modiselle, who hosted the show in Season 2.

The rapper released an official statement in a press release format on her Instagram account this morning with the lengthy caption, β€œWoke up feeling grateful and emotional. Today marks my last show on the first national presenting stage I’ve ever been on. A fruition of a dream and a vision I had at 16 in Newcastle (KZN) where there’s was no resources or practicality of even being on TV.” She added, β€œI’d like to thank Sipho for believing in me, the Massive Music production team, my super talented co-presenters Lalla Hirayama Smash Afrika, and to everyone who has believed in me and watched grow. Ngyabonga . See you 4 the last time tonight. That’s just how we do it.”

The press release titled Anele Zondo Bids farewell to Massive Music After 4 Years On Screen read, β€œ4 years ago Massive Music invited me to be part of a music telling journey. For all these years I became part and parcel of your television screens and I’ve had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of SA’s finest talent and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity.”

The release continued to read, β€œWhilst my journey with Massive Music might be coming to an end, my music will continue to greater pastures, which I know will continue to be received well and loved by you. It has been an amazing journey together and I will always be grateful for the years spent and how much I’ve grown as a personality under the Massive family.”

The influencer also hinted that her career is about to peak following this announcement, she closed off her statement on a high note, β€œ This may be a goodbye to Massiv Music but it’s also a BIG hello to other avenues that will be equally beneficial for my career and personal growth.”

The 24 year old Meda Studies graduate recently trended for her fashion at Cotton Fest this past weekend and again for SA Fashion Week’s opening party proving that she is indeed a multi-potentialite who stands a great career in the media and entertainment space.
