The star has been in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years and over time, she has become the most famous television personality in South Africa.
Bonang Matheba started her presenting career as a child presenter on a SABC 2 show but it was her hosting gig on SABC 1 that made her a household name. When Bonang bagged the Live gig, she instantly became a superstar and birthed a new generation of presenters who follow her every move.
Over the years, we have seen Bonang successfully transition from presenting, acting, radio, and business and the star is only getting started.
The former Metro FM host shocked many of her fans when she moved to New York in the middle of the pandemic. At the time, she told her fans that she was working on an undisclosed project.
Since she left Africa, many of her fans have been wanting her to come back home to do what she is good at, every time there is an award show or any big live event in South Africa, the general public would always talk about how they wish she was the chosen host.
A couple of months ago, the beauty came back home and now she just bagged another big hosting gig.
The talented media personality has been revealed as one of the hosts of the 8th annual Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), which will be happening in Nigeria on the 14th of May.
Taking to Twitter, Bonang excitedly shared the date of her big night.
This is not the first time that Bonang will host an event in Nigeria. Throughout her career, Bonang has had the opportunity to show off her hosting skills in many different countries on the continent.
A few years ago, the beauty hosted a music award show in Botswana which she documented on her reality show.
When the South African version of the AMVCA's came to South Africa, Bonang was the first host of the now annual event.
In 2017, Bonang became the first host of the Mzansi Viewers' Choice Awards, the announcement was made at a swanky Sandton hotel and the first and second awards which were hosted by Bonang were at the Sandton Convention Centre.
