About

Naledi Willers lived a public life yet she was very tight-lipped about details about her personal life. She was many things. A television personality, lawyer, qualified chef, and a model. In the final two years of her life, she courageously fought breast cancer and shared her journey in order to give hope to others.

Personal Life

Naledi Willers, aged 30, was born on 11 November 1991 in a small village in Botswana. She was a half cast. Naledi Willer’s father was a white South African and her mother was a black Motswana. In an interview with a local South African publication IOL, she revealed that her mother was very strict. Nonetheless, she was thankful because it helped her be a disciplined individual.

“Growing up was always interesting being a mixed child. I have a white South African father and a black Motswana mother. My mother was strict, really strict. Back chat and you are in trouble, but I appreciate that she was like that because it really made me a disciplined person.”

Naledi demonstrated how close she was to her mother when she took a trip with the cast of the real housewives of Johannesburg to Botswana to celebrate her 50th birthday. As for her father, the reality TV star gave away very little. Hence, not much can be told about her relationship with him.

Death

Naledi Willers from real housewives of Johannesburg passed away on Tuesday 7 December 2021. Though the cause of her death is yet to be revealed, many suspect that she succumbed to breast cancer.

Family spokesperson and former Big Brother Africa contestant Oneal Madumo disclosed that she developed complications and was taken to Netcare Linksfield Hospital where she breathed her last on Tuesday evening.

He further shared that a postmortem would determine the cause of death.

“Naledi was a breast cancer survivor and although that could have been a contributing factor, only the postmortem results, which we are still waiting for, will determine the cause of her death.”

Breast Cancer Diagnosis

She had been undergoing treatment when in 2019, in a long post on her Instagram page, she announced that she had been diagnosed with stage two triple-negative breast cancer.

“If I look like I have just been through a war, it is because I have. On 29 November 2019, I was diagnosed with stage 2 tripe negative brast cancer. This was also the dat I wrote the last exam of my law degree… while waiting for the call bearing my results. I spent the past short while posting pictures taken around this time last year so I can show what a difference a year makes.. And also to say that throught all those changes, I’m still here. Still fighting? Does the fight for survival end? I choose to say: Still healing, still improving. Everyday I draw another breathe… still WINNING.”
