Nomcebo Zikode whose full name is Nomcebo Nothule Nkwanyana was born on 28 October 1985 and raised in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu Natal.
The star studied at Ukusa High School in KZN. After her education, Nomcebo Zikode left home for Johannesburg in pursuit of a music career.
That did not deter her from furthering her education as she joined Havatech College where she studied Information Technology.

In August 2020, Nomcebo Zikode finally released her long-awaited album Xola Moya Wam. She spoke about what inspired her album and her experience working on it.
"The album was inspired by the fact that when the Covid-19 lockdown hit, I got scared. I thought God was punishing me because I have such a big song (Jerusalema), and I should be outside singing and making money".
Xola Moya Wam has five tracks in total. Together with producer Master KG, she explores the Amapiano genre.
