They Know Tattoos Are Permanent, Right?
Tattoos are permanent – or rather, they are meant to be permanent. For the most part, once you ink your skin, you’ll have it forever. Which is why it is never a good idea to rush into inking your skin – you have to think it through and make sure you’re putting something on your skin that you want to see there for the rest of your life.

Which is why we looked at some celebrities’ choices and wondered whether they realise tattoos are essentially permanent. Seriously, why would they choose these?

Have a look at some of our celebs’ most ridiculous tattoos.

AKA

AKA has made some questionable decisions in his life. Of course we all have, but he is a celebrity, so his are especially scrutinised and chronicled. Other than his diamond encrusted grills, his most recent tattoo also had everyone wondering what on earth he was thinking.

The rapper recently unveiled a tattoo of his idol, the late Michael Jackson. Now, we all loved MJ; he was an icon. But getting his face tattooed on your body? Well, that’s a bit further than most of us would be willing to go. Maybe hang up a poster in your room, AKA?

It’s even more interesting when you consider that these will change with age – skin gets more saggy – so in some years, it won’t look like his face any more, will it?

Well, it gets better. A few years back, he got a tattoo of Manchester United on his arm. His motive was to show loyalty to his favourite team – win or lose. But Mzansi did not feel as excited about it as he did, and he was dragged for going all out for an international team instead of a local one, especially for one that performs as poorly as MUFC does.

But to each his own, I guess.

Emtee

By now, you probably know about Emtee the Hustla’s dumbest tattoo yet. He has many of them, but this one took the cake.

A few years back, the rapper hit a career high and got rich. To celebrate his success, he got two Mercedes Benzes, which was great and we were all happy for him. But he also got a tattoo of the Mercedes logo, for which everyone was much less excited.

Well, shortly after, he had drama with his record label, and they ended up reclaiming all the accolades he had won under them, as well as his Mercs. So there sat Emtee, with a Mercedes tattoo and no cars to match it.

He suddenly saw how dumb an idea the tattoo had been from the start, so he spoke about wanting to get it removed. But he has kept it for some reason, and he still walks around with a Benz logo tattooed on his neck. So power to him for sticking to his choice?

Anele “Saudi” Mbisha

Anele “Saudi” Mbisha set tongues wagging when he unveiled his new tattoo. It wasn’t so much the image in the tattoo – it’s rather hard to make out what it is – but its location.

The rapper has a tattoo on the left side of his face, right beneath his eye. It almost looks like an anchor, but also looks different somehow. Can you figure out what this tattoo is? Please help us out?

Face tattoos are a particularly popular trend with rappers, so it shouldn’t be that strange, considering he is one. So we will give you a bonus for him too (he is covered in ink, after all).

He also has multiple smaller tattoos (constituting one larger one) across his knuckles. They spell out the word “monopoly”. Now we hope he meant the practice of dominating an industry, possibly as motivation for his career. But if he meant the board game, we really don’t know what else needs to be said about this one.

Kelly Khumalo

Kelly Khumalo is covered in tattoos, and they are beautiful and meaningful… for the most part. But the singer has also had her weak moments in the past when she made a questionable ink choice.

A few years back, when she was engaged to rapper and producer Chad da Don, she got a tattoo of his initials on her ring finger. The gesture was not an entirely terrible idea; it was actually kind of sweet, especially since he got a matching one of her initials.

But the two of them broke up, bringing instant regret to Kelly. She soon got the tattoo covered up, and hasn’t looked back since. “Mistakes are meant to be made as long as we learn from them, forgive ourselves, heal and move on like it never happened,” she captioned the image of her cover up, and we have to stan a savage queen calling it all a mistake and forgetting it ever happened.

Luckily for us, technology now allows us to cover them up or remove them. But even so, both processes can be painful and expensive. So think twice before you get your next ink, okay?
