Following Babes Wodumo opening up about her alleged abuse in an interview on Metro FM with Masechaba Ndlovu & Mo Flava recently, many have been debating the radio personalities approach to the matter across different platforms, and the musician's father shares his take.
Babes Wodumo's father, Reverend Welcome Simelane, has reportedly issued an official statement, sharing his two cents on how he felt about the way Masechaba conducted the interview with his daughter.
"Metro FM left us with many unanswered questions. It was clear from the interview that our daughter was not ready and was caught off guard by the presenter. We hope responses about this interview will come from those relevant," he said.
According to SundayWorld, her father - who was present at Babes Wodumo's private surprise birthday party- goes on to claim in the statement that he had no knowledge of her daughter ever being in a relationship with Mampintsha.
"We were shocked to hear about it (the alleged abuse), we want the nation to know that we are against any kind of abuse against women. We were not even aware they were dating."
Babes Wodumo's father allegedly revealed that the Wololo hitmaker had decided to go independent and had started her own record label called Wena Wodumo Entertainment.
“After all, we thank Mandla Maphumulo for discovering talent in Babes and grooming her to be where she currently is. We thank all those who supported our daughter, it’s truly showed how much she is loved."
