Babes Wodumo has been dominating headlines for the past three weeks. This comes after it was reported that her husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo Shimora had suffered a stroke. A stroke which would result in his untimely passing just days after.

While many would have thought that Babes would take time off social media in order to mourn the passing of her husband and father to her son, Sponge. It quickly became apparent that Babes would not be doing the “expected.” This is as she not only found out what Mampintsha's password to his phone was. But she would use his social media accounts to highlight his philandering ways.
Therefore, it posed an interesting fact when on Twitter, there seems to be an account which is passing as Babes Wodumo.

Babes Wodumo's Twitter account real or fake?
In light of Babes Wodumo not being on social media due to the allegations that Mampintsha had taken control of her accounts due to his own insecurities. When a Twitter account rose to popularity due to interest in finding out how Babes was dealing with her late husband’s passing. It did raise eyebrows at the coincidence.

Moreso when considering that the account does not have the same tone or content that Babes’ other social media mediums have had. For instance, Babes posting the video which accuses Mampintsha’s sister of allegedly attempting to bewitch her was not shared via her Twitter. But it was shared via her friend and “unofficial” spokesperson’s Tik Tok account.
😳😳😳Babes wodumo had cameras in each and every room 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yhooo I can't believe this pic.twitter.com/fV5LBODFhs

Therefore, it does beg the question on whether the account is really handled by Babes or this is a pseudo account started in her name to gain followers. This is as this would not be the first time this has happened to Wodumo.

Back in 2020 was the last time that Babes was officially last on the blue app, this was due to the confirmation that she had been hacked. As reported at the time:
The hackers behind Babes Wodumo's Twitter account have broken their silence on the social media platform
On Sunday the perpetrators tweeted their confession and apologised for a series of nasty posts which have caused the gqom singer embarrassment over the past few weeks.
They tweeted:
"This is not Babes Wodumo. She’s totally correct when she said her account was hacked. We would like to apologize as the hackers to @MbaululaFikile, @TiwaSavage, @lasizwe, @pearlthusi and @pennylebyane [and] for reckless and disrespectful tweets at @ladyzamar.”
They also apologised for the xenophobic tweets that were posted last week (which had read as), “Fellow Zimbabweans and Nigerians It was not Babes who tweeted regarding the xenophobic attack’s it was us the hackers."
The hackers also claim they would now give back the account and vowed never to hack another celebrity account again:
“We promise not to hack anyone's twitter and that you guys will treat Babes Wodumo (well) and continue to book her for shows and interviews. The previous tweets in question have since been deleted and we sincerely apologize. Babes will be given her account today."
