"I Am No Longer Married To Nota" - Berita Breathes Fire

Afro-soul singer Berita revealed that she is no longer married to the controversial music executive Nota Baloyi. This was revealed in a lengthy and heated Twitter thread addressing the current uproar over his remarks on Mihlali Ndamase.

Over the weekend, Nota Baloyi said some harsh things about Mihlali Ndamase, saying she is an object that can be killed easily.

People not only attacked Nota but his wife Berita also got dragged for just being married to him and remaining silent when his husband publicly attacks another woman.

Taking to Twitter, Berita said she is no longer married to Baloyi and that she vacated their marital home on January 13, 2022.

She said she chose to keep quiet about this because there are families involved, "I would like to, first of all. clear the air by being transparent to you all. I have been quiet because there are families involved in this situation. I am no longer married to Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi. I left our marital home on Thursday the 13 of January 2022. As it stands we are currently separated," she announced.

Berita then said she cannot babysit a grown man as his behaviour of late has been very troubling. "It’s even difficult for my to follow after his every move. I simply cannot babysit a grown man."

I have been quiet because my safely has been a huge concern. This man is extremely irresponsible, reckless and unruly. He simply does not listen to anyone. I do not condone his actions. I cannot even begin to count the numerous times he has erred in his speech.

Berita then did the noble thing of apologising to Mihlali Ndamase for the harsh things that were said about her.

"Mntase uxolo. (fam, I am very sorry) I apologise to you. I do not condone the things said by Nota to you. No woman should ever have to be objectified and ripped apart publicly or privately!"

She then admitted that she missed all the red flags presented to her before she decided to marry him, "The bullying and disgrace I have faced publicly and privately is painful. This man’s irrational behaviour is beyond me. I am a very reasonable person. I will be the first to admit. I missed very big red flags."

Berita then said the day she left her marriage was the day she decided to remain alive. She also asks that Nota received help for his mental state.

My one request is that Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi needs help with his mental health.

I tried my best whilst I was in his life. I tried to also plead with his family about this.

He is a really good man, sometimes he means well. He needs help.
