Berita, who is wife to popular music executive Nota Baloyi, said this appointment means so much to her as this is a very big win. Especially because she is a young black woman who is also an independent record label owner. According to Berita this will allow her to make important decisions for the music industry now and in future.
"Today I take a seat at the RISA table, I have been appointed as a board member of the Recording Industry of South Africa. I am looking forward to getting acquainted with RISA at a board level. This seat affords me the opportunity to contribute to the present and future of our industry. As a young black female artist and independent record label owner this is a big win. We are in! We are within! We are inside!" she said proudly.
Mrs. Baloyi is also nominated at this year's South African Music Awards under the Rest Of Africa category. This is for her album Songs In The Key Of Love and is nominated alongside greats which are Wiz Kid, Davido, Sauti Sol and Buffalo Souljah.
She says since she is a non-South African resident, she is only eligible for that award only. Not a bummer, because she sees this as an opportunity of African music to shine beyond borders.
"Being a Non - SA resident this is the first time that I am nominated for a SAMA and this is the only category that I am eligible for. This nomination is a gentle reminder to me that the mission is bigger! The rest of Africa and the world is waiting. I am grateful for this moment, I honour my album Songs in the key of Love and the team involved," she wrote.
Her husband has always made headlines for being a mean person and this always sees her getting dragged for it. She told naysayers to leave her name out of it because she has nothing to do with her husbands affairs.
"Attention...There are some people on this app that think they can come for me just because my husband has a public persona. You are crossing the line now. Please keep my name out of it. Respect please. Only love and light from my end.
I donβt have time for nonsense!" she wrote.
