Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi went from being a so-called reputable artist manager to a divisive media personality who has not only lost the respect of his industry mates. But recently, he has also lost the respect of the social media, Twitter specifically, which for some time he was revered for. Therefore, for many it does come as a surprise when tweeps were letting him have it for his misogynistic and arguably hateful comments directed at Mihlali Ndamase.

How Nota began to lose credibility in the Twitter streets
Nota’s decline into disrepute publicly might have started when he confused the rest of South Africa in terms of his working relationship with Kwesta. This is as Kwesta began to distance himself from his long-time business partner and suggested that he did not wholly believe in the business dealings Nota had conducted. But Nota had come out swinging and in the confusion of all it all, social media was polarised.
Nota then moved from music executive to aspiring YouTube podcaster. Arguably inspired by his time on MacG’ Podcast and Chill, and the success that came with it. Nota was then regarded as a Friend of the Show. But it seems that MacG and the crew began to also see that maybe Nota is not all-the-way together mentally, and as such he was relegated to the comments section of Podcast and Chill.
But Nota had been bitten by the bug of YouTubing and podcasting, finding himself at the bottom of the barrel of local podcasts with a regular feature on Everything South African Music (ESAM). A podcast which is run by the contentious personality Rea Gopane. Gopane, who also recently faced backlash for more of his hateful comments in the pursuit to emulate MacG, apparently.
Tweeps Drag Nota For Filth Over Mihlali
But now tweeps have seemingly caught up to the rest of the world as they have been dragging Nota for filth. First, it was when he came for Black Coffee’s physical challenge after a video of Black Coffee circulated stating what any rational artist would say about an artist manager like Nota- that they would not work with him. Seemingly, this is the stick that broke the camel’s birth as they are dragging him for comments said about Mihlali Ndamase.
Ndamase has been a hot topic in recent months as she has been dabbed by some- or Musa Khawula- as the face of IT Girls, who allegedly work the bedroom rather the their actual career paths for money. A matter which was further fueled by sentiments shared by MacG and the podcast. But MacG had to let sleeping dogs lie when more women spoke about his obsessive nature over the matter.
Therefore, tweeps were not having it when Nota came for MIhali. His comments were hateful and misogynistic to say the least. Not only does he actively objectify Mohlali. But Nota goes on to compare her to a dog that can be killed by its owner with no consequence to the owner, because they “bought” Mhlali.. Let that sink in…
