Dr. Malinga had reached out to people for help with settling his SARS bill. The Solalek'Seni hitmaker was a guest on Podcast And Chill where he broke down in tears talking about his difficulties with South African Revenue Services (SARS) and how his home was left empty because he owes the taxman.
Taking to Twitter, Malinga thanked the many people who have chipped in to help settle his debt. People like Black Coffee, Oskido, Busiswa, Kabza De Small, Julius Malema, Makhadzi and of course his fans, helped the muso reach R100 000 with their donations.
A fan misled people into thinking Black Coffee gave Malinga R500 000. But he clarified that was not the case. Instead he said Black Coffee gave him R20 000.
“Hi guys @RealBlackCoffee didn't give 500k let's not mislead people, Black Coffee sent me money ... he sent me R20,000,” he tweeted.
He then went on to add that a BI Phakathi chipped in R10 000, "... also Mr Invisible man with a good heart, BI Phakathi, he sent me R10,000.”
Malinga said the amount that touched him was R10 from a fan who then said 'God bless you my brother.'
“People are donating money. There's an amount that touched me so much, only R10 came to my account with a reference 'God bless you my brother' ... People are blessing me, I'm just overwhelmed... we are reaching 100 000 now.”
Others helped him with bookings and features for songs. Makhadzi booked him for his one woman show.
"I would like Dr. Malinga to come perform at my one woman show. I sent a DM for sure he didn’t see it. I really want to support him from bottom of my heart. Anyone with management contact please DM me," Wrote Makhadzi. “I finally got dr malinga. I promise to not exploit him but to share the little I have with him. God must bless and protect us artists we have been going through a lot during COVID 19. We all suffered.”
Sol Phenduka even expressed awe over what the podcast has done for people. ““Imagine if the podcast had been successfully canceled. Imagine! Zola’s Story wouldn’t have been told. Dr Malinga wouldn’t be getting help. Lives wouldn’t have been changed. The entire podcast and chill team. Lives are changed. So many chillers out there. Lives changed and saved,” wrote Sol.
Malinga even expressed gratitude to the podcast for their amazing work on giving him the platform to tell his story.
"After two years, SARS came. I called Minister Nathi Mthethwa, we talked. Sometimes when I am hungry don't advise that you have to plough, just dish out for me. I am not bad mouthing him, I am talking about what happened. I was calling people that I worked with, but they didn't come to my rescue," he said. "They took everything. When you enter my house, if you don't have a heart, you will laugh. My house is empty," he said.

Dr. Malinga revealed that in total he owes SARS R500 000.
"Auction is painful. I was there, I went there, and then I wanted to say 'please is not like I don't want to pay, I don't have money. I am not trending. I don't have songs. I am not being called at gigs and I can't force people to book me," he said.
