Rumours that The Queen Mzansi might have been axed have rocked Mzansi, not because they are shocked but rather the manner in which the rumours came about. In a war-of-words on Twitter between Phil Mphela, actress Brenda Ngxoli, Vuyo Ngcukama and Lesedi Ferguson, Phil was "forced" to 'leak' information regarding the actors on the telenovela and the production as a whole.

This all started when Phil announced that Brenda Ngxoli, who played Noma for the last 3 years, dumped the production house over salary disputes. But this was also news to Brenda who refuted claims of her having salary issues with The Fergusons and called Phil out on what she considers, a lie.
She said she knows nothing about her apparent firing and said Connie treats her well, no salary disputes over here.
But Phil maintained his stance and said Brenda is lying. He also reported on another actor on the telenovela, Vuyo Ngcukana who played Schumacher. He claimed Vuyo got fired because he allegedly faked being sick just so he can shoot another show.
Vuyo also refuted this claim and said this had directly impacted him and his family, "This has been an attack on my professional reputation which has caused my family, loved ones and business associates stress, at the very least I’m disappointed but not surprised, I have NOT been fired from The Queen Mzansi."
He then said Phil maliciously tried to tarnish his reputation by reporting false stories. "That report was deliberate and malicious, please believe THAT, it is not the first time nor will it be the last, I hold myself to a very high standard with work and I have never compromised that, I appreciate the love since that post, please keep enjoying the work and God bless."
Still, the entertainment commentator said he is 100% behind his reporting and in fact, he said the team had known about this as they had a meeting at 1 PM, on February 28, and he reported that on March 1.
But, to heat things up just a little more was Lesedi Matsunyane Ferguson who is part of the Ferguson Films team as the casting director and assistant production manager, she slammed Phil for "tarnishing" the productions reputation with such claims.
She said Phil's ego got tarnished when he published lies about an actor, so he saw it fitting to bring the entire production into disrepute.
Setting the record straight, Lesedi said this, "Phil, it’s personal when you LIE. 1. Brenda did not leave nor are there any salary disputes. 2. Vuyo has not been fired. Just stop man."
But, she did not say anything about the cancellation of the show. This lead many to believe that what Phil reported, actually had some truths to it. Here's how Mzansi reacted:
