Gomora fans have been flooding the timelines with worrisome comments about how they feel Don's character was not done any justice. So we can anticipate a lukewarm reception to his departure.

The talented actor revealed to Sunday World that his contract did not get renewed and that he is okay with that. “Yes am leaving. My contract was not renewed,” Israel told the publication.

The reason he is okay with this decision is because he feels other upcoming actors can be given a chance to flourish on the show.

But fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that Don was not fired, but his storyline had reached it's end. “We can confirm that he was not fired but his story came to an end. Although his character is still on screens at the moment, Zulu has already wrapped shooting,” said a member of the PR department to the publication.

Don joined Gomora at the start of season 2. He played the role of Teddy's biological father. He did mention to Daily Sun that his character will last for a year.

He described his character as someone who was involved with a very rich woman, who died. He then struggled and as we saw on Gomora, he lived off from other people.

“I’ll be playing Don. He had a relationship with Zodwa, played by Sannah Mchunu, and they had Teddy. He dumped Zodwa for a rich woman and went to live in mansions. Unfortunately, the woman recently died,” he told the paper.

“Now he’s down and out as the wife’s family took everything and he has returned to Alex. He’ll come back with his daughter Sibongile. Don will also be competition for Mam’Sonto, played by Connie Chiume. He struggles a lot after returning and ends up getting into hijacking. Soon he starts taking over Sonto’s operations," he said, adding that people will love him and his sense of humour.

"Don is coming to take over but people will love him because he’s funny. There will be sadness, sorrow, action and more importantly, drama.”

But fans were growing bored of his storyline so they held nothing back. Last week, Don won Zodwa's heart over just as she was going to walk down the aisle and marry Bongani, played by Thulani Mtsweni.

Here's how viewers reacted: "Don storyline is stupid and doesn't make sense, how does a person with money act like a hobbo and stay in people's houses by force you loosing it Gomora was coming right but this is pure nonsense," @Luv5Preet said.

Another tweep said, "Gomora storyline revolves around Don. Every one is talking about Don. Don't they have other storyline to run with other actors ,feel like they are wasting time????"
