The show aired every Sunday and became a firm favourite in many Mzansi household and whilst many were sad to see the show go, a new show has arrived on the block, You Promised to Marry Me is here.

Judging by the show's first episode the show might just become another viewer favourite.

"You Promised To Marry Me" is about women who are sick and tired of waiting for their chance to walk down the aisle and women who never got to experience the wedding of their dreams because their man never delivered or their dream wedding all because the fiance decided otherwise.

Whilst the show is filled with drama it seems there is also drama off-screen surrounding the show. A man by the name of Cedric Manala has accused Moja
Love
of stealing his concept of the show and using it as theirs.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Cedric explained “I saw an advert from Moja Love requesting people to submit TV show proposals. I submitted mine in June. After I submitted my proposal, I saw an advert of a new show coming out, which had the same concept as mine.”

According to the 30-year-old from Tembisa, Ekurhuleni he was only contacted by Moja Love after he went public with his claims on social media.
“The CEO of Moja Love, Aubrey Tau, along with head of channel Bokani Moyo, contacted me. They said they haven’t read my email. “I asked them why the concept was the same. All they did was change the name.”

The channel invited Cedric to visit the station, but Cedric said he asked them why he was wanted at the station his email was not read and the concept was his.

“They said they wanted me there when they recorded and aired the show, which I also questioned,” he said. “This was never about compensation. It’s about recognition because it was going to put me on the map and open doors for me.”

Moja Love's Moyo said that the channel had been working on the show's concept since last year as a spin-off of Uyajola 9/9.

“The channel has been working on the show format for You Promised to Marry Me since last year as a spin-off of Uyajola 9/9. The concept of the show was created and formalised internally by the channel’s executive producers.”

He also added that proposals submitted for the month of June had not been processed by the channel yet as the amount is "overwhelming". The channel is in the process of setting up a dedidated committee to manage the process.

Cedric on the other hand would like to action against the channel but is currently looking for a lawyer to help him pro bono.
