Moja Love has exposed a number of fake Twitter accounts who are claiming to be a part of their channel, and representing their highly popular show, Uyajola 9/9. The Twitter account in question, previously shared a number of derogatory posts which came across as homophobic, racist and tribalist.

Moja Love was quick to call out the accounts, claiming that they do not stand for such statements as it goes against the channel’s mission to be inclusive. Further, Moja Love commented on the negative comments they have received on social media which condemned the show for showing their guests in such a negative light. The channel stated, “We tell authentic South Africa stories narrated by all our people in their own voices, in their own language and in the cultural idiom that makes sense to them. Most importantly, we do not censor those voices but attempt to bring as close to a first person account wherever possible.”
The channel also claimed that the fraudulent accounts were making statements which discredited their ethos, and although they are unable to stop all fake accounts, they would like their viewers to become aware of who they are. Image credit: Facebook
