Katlego Danke kinds addresses Patrice affair allegations
On Thursday, 9 March 2023, Danke took to her social media to confirm that she was set to conduct her first interview since having her second born with Metro FM breakfast show. It seemed that the interview was in light of her recent nomination at the
Royalty Soapie Awards for
Best Leading Actress for her role on
Gomora.
But the burning question was whether or not she will address the matter of the allegations that she is Patrice Motsepe’s side chick. While Khutso Tsaledi, who is temporarily hosting the show following Mo Flava’’s abrupt departure, was careful in asking the question.
Katlego, too, was careful in addressing the matter. This is as she answered it in a round about way when she explained that:
“I’ve got a team that goes into that space. So they will tell me what is happening, and people will feedback to me what they think is relevant to me. Uhm, and what we need to handle and what we need to deal with. But if it’s nothing, you know, that I need to get myself involved in emotionally, mentally, physically, you know, psychologically, then I shut it out.”
She then went on to explain how people do not know her personally, therefore they confuse her with the characters she plays which opened room for the allegations to grow legs. This is as some of the public still consider her to be the gold-digging Dineo Mashaba, and allegations of her having an affair with a billionaire resemble the antics of Dinny.
Seemingly her stance matches that of Patrice Motsepe, who released a statement of his own addressing the matter. As
reported at the time:
Sunday World reports that Motsepe’s lawyer Tim Gordon-Grant from Bowmans Attorneys said Patrice has de-linked him to the actress and said the allegations are defamatory and fake.
“Allegations in the media that Dr. Patrice Motsepe has children or a relationship with Ms. Katlego Danke are absolutely false and are fake news … These allegations are defamatory and expose the disseminators of these false and untrue allegations due to legal liability. We have taken note of the article in Die Son in which Ms Katlego Danke is reported to have stated and clarified that Dr Patrice Motsepe is not the father of her child,” the blog quoted the alleged lawyer.
