Mzansi Wants Kelly To Replace Somizi On Idols

After last night's episode of Idols SA, Mzansi seems to have a change of heart about wanting Somizi Mhlongo to be axed from the singing competition. Many have realised that Idols will never be the same without Somizi seeing how his aura is partly what makes the show.

Last week Mnet announced that Somizi Mhlongo requested some time off to deal with his personal issued. This after allegations of abuse were brought up by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung. The pressure mounted for Somizi to get stripped off from his duties at all his work places, the biggest being Idols SA and Metro FM.

Both these media entities issued statements saying they have halted their work relations with Somizi.

M-Net wrote, “M-Net and Mr Somizi Mhlongo met to discuss his role on Idols SA in light of the allegations made against him. We have reached a mutual agreement that Mr Mhlongo will take some time off to deal with his personal circumstances until this matter has been resolved. Viewers will still see Mr Mhlongo on their screens until August 22 2021 as the audition shows for Idols SA were pre-recorded.”

In the same manner, Metro FM also distanced itself from Mr. Mhlongo, “The SABC can confirm Metro FM management met with Mr Somizi Mhlongo and he has requested to take some time off from work. Management has granted Mr Mhlongo permission to do so.”

Now it seems as though, Bathu, a sneaker company that collaborated with Somizi to create 4 new sneaker designs also called it quits. This according to City Press who reported that both parties met to discuss their way forward. This also resulted in Somizi being barred from attending the opening of the company's 28th store in Gateway, Theatre of Shopping in Durban.

So, with Somizi losing out on his work which is also affecting his income, Mzansi can only think of his replacement on Idols and the obvious choice seems to be the sensational Kelly Khumalo, and we cannot think of any reasons why she can't be.

"They tried destroying Kelly Khumalo but failed, her story should be written in the history books. They can all be against you but if you have God on your side you remain standing tall. I love her Music, I love her. The best candidate should there be a need to replace Somizi,"

Mohale accused Somizi of abusing him physically and emotionally, to the point of breaking his ribs. This was during an interview with Legend Manqele for Living The Dream With Somizi, which he produced it. Mohale revealed some very disturbing details about their toxic marriage but he claims to have not leaked the recording.
