"It's thee day! The big reveal!!!! I present to you the #BathuXSomizi shoe!  Available @bathu_sa nationwide from Friday 12 February 2021," announced the entertainment extraordinaire.

Today, Somizi will be launching the sneaker line and already some well known faces have arrived including Jiyane Atelier founder DJ Zinhle and talk show host Noeleen Maholwana Sangqu.
Bathu was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Theo Baloyi and has taken over many of our local ZAleb's shoe closets. It has amassed so much success that they have managed to open 16 stores nationwide.

Just like Rich Mnisi's brand, Bathu also is heftily priced, with sneakers costing a whopping R300K. Don't fret because the sneakers which are inspired by the four precious stones; diamond, silver, ruby red and gold cost R1800.

In statement the two collaborators share an equal amount of excitement about the sneaker collab with Baloyi saying it makes sense for them to work together as Somgaga has supported the brand since the beginning.

”The #BathuXSomizi sneaker has been a long time coming. I am personally excited about this collaboration with Somizi. He has been a friend of the brand since inception and this needed to be done the right way. I can't wait to see how people receive it.”

Somizi explained the inspiration behind each design saying it's the beauty and richness of Africa that inspired him.

Somgaga did hint that a big collaboration was on the way when he shared a snap of him in Baloyi's office, teasing that it was actually his so he can work on Sompire. "Remember this name.....on yo marks get set ready steady fire GO," he captioned the post.

Somizi dropped a few words to tell the world he is coming for everything: “Next level, from a TV show, to cookbook, to jet, to yachts, to restaurants. Your dreams should scare you. Ain't no stopping me now, I’m a child of God. The son of my ancestors. If it doesn’t kill you, it should make you richer."

Remember: Everything Somgaga touches turns to Gold!  Well done Som Som!
