Masechaba Ndlovu has landed in hot water again and this time it is for posting a coronavirus awareness video that was done in bad taste.
The media practitioner who is now a government official as Nathi Mthethwa's spokesperson at the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture has deleted the 'racist' video.
The video is of father and son duo Valdo and Lindokuhle, talking about the importance of washing your hands and maintaining good hygiene during the outbreak.
Even though the video was done with good intentions, the usage of the Chinese language and mimicking Chinese people's accents was seen as racist. Especially because they were not speaking it correctly.
Social media dragged Masechaba for sharing the video, instead of bashing Lindokuhle and Valdo for making the video.
This is not the first time she was dragged for sharing any message pertaining the coronavirus. Earlier this month, she tweeted misinforming statistics and figures about the death toll of South Africans because of COVID-19. She later deleted the tweet.
Social media had a field day with the spokesperson on social media.
