Cotton Fest has been advertising their event all over the socials and reminding cotton eaters that late registrations are still open. But with their recent social media posts, the folded quickly when they revealed the requirements to enter the venue.

Some requirements include non selling of tickets at the gate, no camera's and no glasses allowed. No chairs, cooler boxes, food, drinks and hubbly allowed.

In order to enter the venue, people must bring the following, copy of identity document, proof of vaccination, debit/credit cards or cash may be carried. In addition to that, people must bring a cool attitude and be swagged up.

If people are not vaccinated, then they should bring their ID's or negative COVID tests not older than 72 hours prior to the event.

Many people said "andizi" and decided to ditch the event by selling their tickets.

Here are some of the tweets:
Cotton Fest 2022 boasts a star-studded lineup of some of music's heavyweights spanning from different genres. These include AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Big Zulu and Boity, who represent the Hip Hop genre. We also have the multi talented Sjava who dabbles in many genres. Then we can see a pretty large Amapiano presence which had people talking in disapproval.

The hosts of the 2-day event are Lula Odiba from YFM, MTVBase's Tshego Koke, Riky Rick's protΓ©gΓ© Uncle Vinny and comedian who also is an Amapiano artist Robot Boii.

Riky said this about the event before his passing, β€œThis year we bring you the UNIVERSITY OF COTTON FEST. Our multi-layered festival campus experience includes 3 stages featuring over 100 of South Africa’s finest performers and DJs.” wrote Ricky.

Despite speaking numerous times that he and Riky were looking to iron things out, Cassper's inclusion to Cotton Fest still does not sit well with people.

Yes, they never saw eye to eye, but this was the year they would have laid things to rest. But he had a few good things to say to him.

β€œRiky was one of my idols. Riky was everything I wanted to be. One of the things I never told him β€” I don't know if it's because of toxic masculinity or what β€” was the fact that I really said he was such a beautiful man ... Riky was so handsome that, even as a guy, you'd have that said that 'Hayi man! The broer is too much!' Not only was his appearance beautiful but he was a beautiful soul.”

β€œIt's so crazy that now, everyone is cheering Riky on for the things that he did, but while he was alive he didn't get that love.”

He also spoke about the time they met which was through social media.

β€œRiky and I met on Facebook. The same way Riky Rick reached out to all the kids. At one point I was also just another kid from Maftown and it wasn't really easy to move in Johannesburg, but he still had the time for me and he did that for hundreds of people after me.

β€œI then ended up forming a relationship with him, a friendship where we would not only talk about music but we would talk about life. One of the things that I loved about Riky was how honest he was. Riky would tell you the truth,” he said.
