The long awaited reality dating show has debuted on social media and Mzansi is up in arms over the cast members. The lack of diversity on Love Island South Africa is appalling and social media users held nothing back when they debated over the dominantly white cast, which only had one black woman, one black man and one coloured man - in a pool of white men and women only.

Hosting the franchise which has landed on South African shores is Leandie du Randt and it airs on M-Net. Even though the very first episode of the show caught many people's attention many were livid over the cast members. So much so, that tweeps renamed Love Island South Africa to Love Island Orania.
Orania is a controversial town as it is Afrikaner only and is situated in the middle of South Africa, Northern Cape province. The comparison comes from the fact that it caters only for white people and the show is predominantly white.
Prince Kaybee could not hold back his disappointment over the whole saga and dragged the show for filth. He said the show's lack of diversity was done deliberately so that it trends, "This was deliberately done to trend from the justified outrage. Surely using black pain and outrage as a marketing tool should be a thing of the past but you still have shows like Love Island with an all white cast."
Here's how Mzansi reacted on social media:
"Love Island SA adding ONE Black woman for diversity purposes is so disgusting. Is M-Net forgetting that this is South Africa where 80% of our population are Black? The entire show reeks of white privilege. I'm glad they're calling it Love Island Orania. The Bachelor too.
"I don't see Indian colored people complaining. I keep saying if a show is produced by white people why would it have black people. Darkies don't understand natural inclination. Tell Ferguson film to produce their own reality shows and they'll have black people as you cry for.
"This Whites only is expected since Ramaphosa became the president. Black people need to understand that Ramaphosa made it clear that he is against transformation and therefore Whites do not need Black people anymore. Even big corporations are no longer implementing BBBEE policies.
"I think y'all are just desperate for inclusion with whites. Love Island Orania is one of those unnecessary trends where black people are mad for not being associated with their colonizers. Why y'all seek to be validated by these people this much, Love Island SA is a dumb show anyways."
