A new Miss South Africa has been crowned, and she is the beautiful and articulate Sasha-Lee Olivier
The 'plus size' beauty was officially awarded the title (the first ever to hold the crown) on Wednesday by pageant organisers after her successor Zozibini Tunzi won Miss Universe in December.
Miss SA made the announcement on social media, but instead of the focus being on praising our new queen, the news evoked a reaction we didn't see coming.
Many tweeps were unimpressed to say the least - they strongly felt that Zozibini should continue her reign whilst juggling her Miss Universe duties.
Others felt she won by 'default' and took nasty and unnecessary swipes at her;
While others still wondered if she would reclaim the pageant prizes from Zozi;:
On the flipside, some fans came to Sasha's defense and called for an end to cyber-bullying;
Let's give her a fair chance!
