Kaya FM breakfast show favourite duo Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe, have reportedly been booted from the station.
However, the station is mum on these allegations. According to Sunday World, the duo was removed from their slot in an effort to increase its listenership due to dwindling listenership.
According to TshisaLIVE, The station has however neither denied nor confirmed the allegations, stating that an announcement will be made when the time is right.
“As a competitive business, we proactively assess our business position from time to time, if our assessments point to any required shifts in the line-up, we will hold engagements with the affected talent, and any announcements to the public will be made when the time is right,” said Kaya959 MD Sibongile Mtyali
According to Sunday World source, the duo is being moved to the graveyard, which means they will not receive the same paycheck. “That is if they agree to the terms of their new contract. You can’t be paid the same when you are presenting a graveyard slot. If they fail to find each other, they will, unfortunately, have to leave at the end of this month," said a source.
Tweeps have reacted to these rumours and they are disappointed.

The station has welcomed a new addition to its list of presenters. According to SowetanLIVE, Dineo Ranaka has joined the station. The TV and radio host had been with Metro FM for nine years, but on Monday she finally bid farewell to the SABC station.
Dineo said she is excited about the new chapter, and she is leaving the station on good terms. “I’m really happy there and I really had a good time. I’m going to miss how we’ve become family to each other. I’m gonna miss how I’m finally understood and I don’t have to try too hard anymore,"
“And I think I’m going to miss even my new management, I don’t want to lie, I’m going to miss them because of how we just got along, just like my previous managers,” she added.
“It’s bittersweet because this is the happiest departure I’ve ever had in my entire career. It’s not toxic, it’s not angry, there’s no fights, no animosity. I’m leaving with a hell of a lot of their blessings and that’s the spirit that I’m going to miss," she told the publication.
