There appears to be some serious drama brewing behind the scenes at Kaya FM. This follows after apparently one of the morning show hosts, stormed out of the studio while the show still live.

According to Twitter users, Skhumba Hlophe and his colleague had a heated altercation that saw the agitated host storming out of the studio. Another Twitter user also claimed that the presenter, allegedly trashed the studio equipment following the altercation.

@CreativeNEVES, Tweeted, "Skhumba left the show on Kaya FM earlier this morning after a misunderstanding with the team and I was shocked how Thomas handled the whole situation. I'm very disappointed Bad Boy T, and I hope Skhumba is calm now. Return stronger tomorrow Skhumba ungezwa ngabo Cheeseboy."

Another Twitter user @Tshepo_011 wrote: "Apparently, an angry breakfast show host at Kaya FM trashed the studio equipment after an altercation with one of his colleagues about their working conditions."

Listeners were concerned this morning when the station went silent. In a video posted by the station on its Twitter account. Skhumba and Thomas apologized for the technical difficulties and said a team has been dispatched to resolve the problem and they will be back on air shortly.

Many Twitter users want to know what is happening at the station. Yesterday, Kaya FM announced that it had shown one of its hosts Unathi Nkayi, the door. Nkayi's contract was terminated due to reasons which the radio station said it cannot reveal at this point

Ms. Nkayi’s contract has ended prematurely due to certain conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable going forward. Kaya 959 can confirm that certain incidents had occurred, which resulted in the breakdown of the trust relationship between the two parties.

"The business can further confirm that due process was followed and the decision was therefore made to part ways with Ms. Nkayi," reads a part of their statement.

The company suggests that they had a conversation about this and this was the best solution going forward, "The station would prefer not to be drawn into a debate around the details of what transpired in the interest of both parties. Safe to state that Ms. Nkayi’s version of events have been carefully considered and unfortunately found wanting." They further added that her replacement will be announced soon.
