Following the news that Somizi's daughter, Bahumi and singer Kelly khumalo are forerunners to play younger and older versions of Lebo Mathosa (respectively) in the Lebo Mathosa biopic, black twitter was not impressed.

Bahumi found her name topping the trends list on Tuesday, with social media users claiming the she did not have enough acting experience and only got the role because her parents, Somizi and Palesa Madisakwane, as well as her grandmother, Mary Twala, are well-known actors.

This further ignited the #OpenUpTheIndustry debate; which is a cry for producers and casting agents to give aspiring actors and actresses (who are not in the entertainment industry) a chance.

But Somizi was not having it, and decided to post a letter to his daughter, in which he encourages her to hold her head up high. and forget about the haters.

"Listen! Never ever question why u get certain opportunities in life. U deserve everything and u must take anything and everything they said u would never have. F**k the haters. It's not yo fault that you're my daughter."

He went on to encourage Bahumi by telling her to look at this opportunity as a blessing because she is gifted before ending it off with the words "Daddy loves u and will always protect u. U deserve a woooo shemmmm."
