A picture posted by Zeus Omega - her manager - raised eyebrows on the internet. The photo featured seven men surrounding the young disk jockey. Although they all looked happy and comfortable with each other, Uncle Waffles’s fans were quick to notice that it probably signalled a similar absence of female representation at Kreative Kornerr, the label that signs her.
In an endearing show of support, social media users advised the social media star to surround herself with more women. Initially, it started as advice for career success, but as more people got involved, others pointed out that being the only woman in a sea of older men was unsafe for Uncle Waffles. Their sentiments were accompanied by a rallying cry for more female DJs to support her. She is only 21 years old, so she would understandably be impressionable, and DJ Zinhle, specifically, was invited to take her under her wing and steward her personal life and career in the right way.
A video has now emerged online that seems to support Tweeps’ thoughts of the DJ being unsafe at the label. In the video that is supposedly from an Instagram live session, Thato Tlhankana is seen grabbing Uncle Waffles’ waist in a manner that is too familiar for a professional working relationship.

In another video, one of the twin brothers - Bandile and Banele Mbere - of the hip hop band Major League DJz, is seen grabbing her waist and holding her very close. She seems to be gripping her dress to pull it down, and tweeps think it is because the twin might have been trying to edge it up higher.
Her facial expression has also been widely discussed by social media users, and women largely agree that she looks uncomfortable in a way that women usually are when they are afraid to call out a man for their actions.

Isibaya star Asavela Mngqithi has weighed in on the situation, agreeing with the twitter ladies that Uncle Waffles looked uncomfortable in the video. She also said that other women in the entertainment industry need to rally around the young act to protect her from predators, particularly men. In a conversation on Twitter spaces, she reminded those present of how such predation has been ignored in the past, and emphasized that ladies should not let the same thing happen to the dancing queen.
Uncle Waffles is a charismatic and talented queen, and it would be very unfortunate if all these sentiments about her management turn out to be true. She deserves to be protected, and we hope she heeds the advice of those who have gone before her in the industry, and that those who have been called on to help her take the invitation seriously.
