Over the past two years, Zodwa Wabantu has been positioned as one of the most accepting and non-judgemental celebrities in all of Africa because of her carefree attitude and during her time in the limelight, she has been known for embracing the LGBTI community.

In 2017, the dancer bagged the Drama Queen of the Year Feather Award at the annual Feathers - an award show that recognizes and celebrates the LGBTI community and media personalities and achievers who inspire the LGBTI community.

All along, her many gay supporters thought she was an ally, however, on last nights episode of Zodwa Uncensored, the reality star raised a lot of eyebrows when she seemingly made a homophobic comment.

The star who has a large gay following disappointed many of her fans when she made a comment about gay people being ‘sly’ on her Moja Love reality show.

Upon seeing the video, many of her fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment. Take a look at some of the comments below:

Zodwa is not the first starlet to get called out for homophobia. In 2018, Nadia Nakai was under fire after her old homophobic tweets resurfaced. After a social media firestorm, the Family Tree rapper took to Twitter to publicly apologise for the comments she made in 2010:

"Hai guys pulling tweets from 2010? I was childish cos I was a child!! I'm sorry if they offended you. It just further shows how people on these twitter streets don't know me and my heart."
