The Eastern Cape beauty queen was crowned during the showdown on Sunday night (early Monday morning for us) and beat off Mexico and Puerto Rico to claim the title.

And not only did she wow us with her amazing looks, but she commanded the universe's attention with her eloquent, intelligent and powerful answers.
Her inspiring closing speech drew a strong reaction from the crowds and fans and undoubtedly secured her spot as the winner.
She said, "I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me with my colour skin and my kind of hair is not considered beautiful...That stops today. I want children to look at my face and see their own looking back at them".

And South Africans - including Zalebs Trevor Noah,Somizi, Anele Mdoda and Oprah Winfrey (yes, she's South African) amoungst many others - have lead the well-wishes to our gorgeous Zozi.
