Entries for Miss South Africa 2022 are set to open on Friday 01 April 2022. Young women from all over the country will have the chance to follow in Miss South Africa 2021 Lalela Mswane’s footsteps and become one of South Africa’s most prominent brand ambassadors and have the opportunity to represent their country on the global stage.

“We are proud to announce the launch of the official Miss South Africa App. The app is aimed at expanding the Miss SA digital platforms and adding a new dimension to the Miss SA Competition.” Says Stephanie Weil, CEO of the Miss South Africa Organisation.

The official Miss South Africa app will also allow fans to have a say in who the next Miss South Africa will be! Read and get to know the contestants, vote for their favorite, view exclusive content, buy Miss SA merchandise and learn more about this year’s competition. Entries will open at 09:00 am on 01 April 2022 and close at 23:00 pm on 30 April 2022.

A “How to” educational video series is available on the app which entrants are encouraged to view. The series include videos on how to make your entry stand out, your digital footprint, FAQs for Miss SA 2022, how to formulate your “why?”/purpose when entering, the importance of your mental well-being when entering.

The Miss South Africa Organisation continues to make the entry process as accessible and easy as possible which means there are no forms to download and no regional auditions to which hopefuls have to travel. Those who wish to enter can simply download the app, answer a few questions and their upload entry pictures. Entrants will also be required to post their 45 seconds introduction video on social media as part of the entry process by using #MissSA2022 and tagging Official Miss South Africa on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Miss SA 2021 Lalela has had a good run although at some point it was surrounded by controversy. Taking to her Instagram account she shared that has launched her #BeReady campaign, which addresses youth unemployment in the country.

"I hope to inspire and motivate those seeking job opportunities to rather become job creators. #BeReady is a step-by-step entrepreneurial programme that will enable you to start your own business. The programme will shed light on important topics such as knowing what is needed to start a business, how to draw up a business plan, how to register your own company, what is your intellectual property, how to do market research and market your product/service, how to amplify your distribution/offering with different supply chains, etc," she wrote.
