We were really surpirsed to learn that William Lehong is also a skilled musician.
The Metro FM DJ has released a new song called Amazin, featuring Monique Hellenberg. We recently caught up with him and he told us about the inspiration behind it, and his plans to release more music.
Speaking about the song, William said: “I wrote, produced, arranged and perforned it. Not a lot of people know this, but those who follow me know this personally, that I’m a musician. I play the drums, I play the keyboard, I play guitar, and I make music.”
He explained that the track was inspired by his love story at the moment and at the time the song was written. “I felt that my love with whom I’m with was very amazing. I was able to translate that into music and lyrics. I’m a songwriter, can you believe that? I can write creatively.”
His journey into music did not just begin now. It goes way back. “Several years back, my days at YFM, Chilli and I in the afternoons, I’d always bring a song on. He’d be like ‘okay, this one sucks, this one’s really cool’, and we had that that thing going, right? That eventually led to me writing and producing a song for R J Benjamin on his House Bound album…”
He said we can definitely expect more music from him, adding: “There is absolutely more music coming out. The EP is actually ready, it’s coming out at the end of the year.”
