In a statement, the show confirmed that the actress will be temporarily leaving the show.

"As my last day in YV's shoes approaches, I can't help but reminisce about the thrill ride it's been to navigate this gem of a character, gifted to me by the dedicated and talented Scandal! writers. Scandal! will always hold a special place in my heart because through the efforts, talents, and love of the cast and crew, I grew so much as an artist and experienced so many career milestones, including my SAFTA Best Actress win and recent Best Supporting Actress nomination," she said in a statement.
The actress joined the show in 2016 after leaving Isidingo and viewers will bid farewell to her on Scandal! on June 2.

It hasn't been easy for fans to digest the news of beloved YV's exit most were hoping that her romance with Lerumo might just heat up.
As to what's next for Kgomotso time is to tell, however, the star has refuted speculation that she will be joining award-winning drama The River. Responding to several tweets guessing her next move, the star shared that she won't be joining former castmate Hlomla Dandala on set.
