On Tuesday night, South Africans were saddened when they found out that Lira had suffered a stroke. The well-loved singer was reportedly in Germany when the incident happened to her.
According to a statement put out by her loved ones, the singer's ability to communicate had been impacted by the stroke, "As Lira's family, we would like to take this opportunity to share some recent developments regarding Lira's health. Lira recently travelled to Germany for a performance but unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst there. As a result, her ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, has been impacted," the statement read in part.
The statement then went on to share the good news about Lira's state of mind and recovery process, "She is currently undergoing treatment here in South Africa, led by the best medical team available. Her medical team has advised that her journey to recovery will require patience and therefore, it is unlikely that she will be able to perform in the short term. That said, Lira is in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery."
As soon as word got out about Lira's situation, fans and celebrities alike took to their social media platforms to wish the hitmaker well. Over the past 24 hours, Lira has been trending at number 1 and when you look at the messages, it is all love for the beauty.

In 2019, Lira announced that she and her husband and manager were going their separate ways after a couple of years of marriage, "Robin and I are currently living apart and are in the process of deciding the future of our marriage. We have had a long and fruitful marriage and business relationship and have formed a strong bond that will remain, whatever the outcome of our time apart."
