SA Musicians Mourn Gospel Artist Malibongwe Gcwabe

The musician passed on yesterday after suffering from an asthma attack.

Tributes continue to pour in for gospel star Malibongwe Gwcabe. The musician passed on yesterday and news of his passing was shared by his daughter on Facebook. According to Sowetan Live, Malibonge passed on after suffering from an asthma attack.

The Eastern Cape born artist was 55 years old and, he is known by many for his hit song Enkosi Bawo. His promoter Luckie Shongwe, told the publication that he passed on after being rushed to a hospital and he was planning on working on a new song.

“We lost one of the greatest gospel musicians. Malibongwe was a talented and dedicated artist. He was always willing to help poor people, as a result, we were organizing food parcels that he was going to donate to the people.”

“I saw him last week, he was fine and looking forward to completing the recording of the song. But I understand that he was rushed to hospital yesterday", he said.

Gospel artists including Zanele Mbokazi and Betusile have also sent their messages of condolences and paid tribute to him.
