Nkululeko Mahlangu and his wife, Tshegofatso, are celebrating a major milestone after they exchanged vows over the weekend, and well-wishes have been pouring in ever since the news broke.
The couple kept things intimate, inviting close family members and trusted friends to witness the ceremony. Among the attendees were former Married at First Sight cast members Themba Khosa, Bongani Lavalo, and Tshepo Miya, adding an extra layer of meaning for fans who followed their reality journey.
Taking to his timeline on Sunday, Nkululeko shared a series of videos and photos from the day, posting glimpses of the celebration as he marked the moment with his followers.
In a heartfelt caption, he reflected on what the day represented for him personally, writing: “On our anniversary, I got to marry my best friend, my safe place, my answered prayer, and the love of my life. Through every season, every lesson, every challenge, and every blessing — God kept writing our story. Today we said ‘forever’ to each other, and my heart has never been more full.”
He also addressed his wife directly, adding, “To my wife: Thank you for loving me, believing in me, growing with me, and standing beside me through it all. I promise to choose you, honour you, protect our peace, and love you deeply for the rest of my life. From best friends… to husband and wife. Happy anniversary, my love.”
Nkululeko’s path to this new chapter first became public through Married at First Sight SA Season 2. In the show, he went through the experts’ matching process, hoping to build a connection with actress Makoto Phumodi despite meeting her as a stranger at the start.
That pairing didn’t end in a fairytale, with the split reportedly playing out painfully, including threats of legal action. However, last year, he revealed that he had found love again after stepping away from the programme.
Meanwhile, another pair from the same season—Makhumo Ngobeni and Thabang Mvuyane—have also been celebrating relationship updates of their own. They recently confirmed that they have officially made their bond official following a lobola ceremony.
In a joint post shared on Instagram, they wrote: “They saw how we started, not how we were being shaped. What began in uncertainty was never without purpose. Through the waiting, the growth, and everything in between…we chose God, and we chose each other. This wasn’t rushed — this was built, tested, and prayed for.”
