The championship decider of the MOB Unity Cup has been slated for Monday, June 8, with the final set to take place at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti.

The scheduling and venue were confirmed at a meeting of the organising committee held in Ado Ekiti, where the organisers also detailed the match timings for both divisions.

On the women’s side, Golden Queens of Ado Ekiti will meet Oba Ademola Ajakaye Memorial Queens from Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government. In the men’s final, the NYSC football team representing Irepodun/Ifelodun—referred to as Samba Boys—are set to face Delight Football Club of Ado Ekiti.

The women’s showdown is scheduled to begin at 2pm, while the men’s final will follow ahead of the closing ceremonies, which are due to start at 4pm.

Acting chairman of the organising committee, Hon. Gbenga Banji, explained that the adjusted kick-off times were influenced by ongoing renovation work at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium. He noted that Governor Biodun Oyebanji commissioned the venue more than a year ago as part of an upgrade intended to bring the stadium up to national standards.

The MOB Unity Cup final is among the first major events to be staged at the ground since the renovation process began, marking an early high-profile test for the refurbished facility.

The tournament is sponsored by Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, with the competition designed to lift the level of grassroots sport in Ekiti State and to align with the state government’s youth development drive.

Earlier editions have already served as a pathway for talent, with players emerging from the competition and going on to feature in league football across Nigeria and abroad.

Prize money has also been confirmed: champions in both categories will take home ₦1 million and a trophy, runners-up will receive ₦750,000, and teams finishing third in each division will earn ₦500,000.
