South African TV personality and medical doctor Musa Mthombeni is celebrating a major professional breakthrough, revealing that he has completed his sub-speciality training in Interventional Neuroradiology and Endovascular Neurosurgery.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the doctor shared the news with his signature playful edge, crediting more than a year of intense preparation, long shifts, and plenty of caffeine-fueled late nights for getting him to the finish line.
“Vukani! Sekunjalo! Daddies are up! After over a year of very early mornings, parking lot complaints about people wanting to scratch my #VClass, late nights in angiotheatre, and probably consuming way too much coffee, I’ve officially wrapped up my sub-speciality training in Interventional Neuroradiology / Endovascular Neurosurgery,” he wrote.

In his explanation, Mthombeni highlighted what a neurointerventionist does—this is a highly specialised physician who diagnoses and treats problems involving the blood vessels in the brain, spine, and head through minimally invasive techniques.
He also pointed out the importance of the discipline, noting that it is essential in managing serious conditions such as strokes, aneurysms, and vascular malformations.
With the training now complete, the doctor said he is looking forward to stepping into the next phase of his career and applying his expertise in real time.
“I am so excited to step into this next chapter, apply these skills, and change some lives in a field I have absolutely fallen in love with,” he said.

“A big thank you to Dr Ro, my colleagues, my mentors, my incredible wife, who deserves a medal for putting up with my fellowship schedule, and my family. I couldn’t have done it without your unwavering support — and your tolerance of me talking about blood vessels 24/7,” he added.
Known for juggling a medical career with his presence in broadcasting and entertainment, Mthombeni’s latest achievement has sparked an outpouring of congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities.
