Let’s check out his successes of the past year.
2020’s Zakwe & Duncan Album
The hitmaker of Impande, Zakwe, ended 2020 on a fabulous note when he, in collaboration with the rapper Duncan Skuva, brought out an album called Zakwe & Duncan.
Rappers Duncan Skuva and Zakwe put together a joint album and have recorded 15 songs thus far. Besides a bevy of hit songs, the purpose of the album was to bring the two disputing record labels Ambitiouz Entertainment and Mabala Noise together.
"It’s a strictly hip-hop album with a kasi touch. On this album, we’re talking about our journey in the music industry. We’re also talking about the challenges and the highs and lows of the music industry. So far we have made 14 songs and we hope to make at least 20, but this doesn’t mean all of them will make onto this album," explained Zakwe.
When the rebranded Mabala Noise retained only Ntokozo Zakwe
The controversial in the past but now rebranded record label Mabala Noise, is back after an abrupt exit of some of SA's renowned artists. Things then went South for the label and many parted ways with it in the wake of EFF's leader, Julius Malema accusations.
The freshly rebranded label has dropped all artists from their roster except for Zakwe in an effort to start on a clean slate.
Zakwe to rap more in English
Rapper Ntokozo Zakwe wants to tone down his rapping in IsiZulu and shift gears to rapping in English going forward, in order to reach a larger audience.
The rapper claims that he is set to obtain Gold status with his upcoming album titled Cebisa. Despite being in the industry for 10 years the rapper wishes to also reach the international Hip/Hop music scene and cultivate a new following.
Ntokozo Zakwe’s bevy of awards
Not one to usually flaunt his wealth or his accomplishments through his music or social media, Rapper Ntokozo Zakwe, stepped out of his norm to showcase his achievements.
Zakwe flexed big time and reminded everyone that his awards collection is super lit and remarkable.
In a video on Twitter, he showed off his impressive set of awards, which include a, SAMA, VOYY, SATMA, SAHHA and a plaque.
