Brenda Fassies’ screen projector performance

Disappointment all around as die-hard fans of the late Brenda Fassie get served a mere screen projector performance from the Pop icon.

Many fans took to twitter and expressed their anger towards this farce of a so called “Hologram” some people even said that this was simply a screen projector of a woman on stage as they could not even see if that was Brenda or just a random woman on stage.  MetroFM news reader – Mel Bala tweeted this about her experience of the Hologram.

@MelBala: “First hologram in Africa? We’re still waiting because *that* wasn’t it.

She continued to describe how the audience couldn’t even view the “hologram” of the legendary artist.

One of the most anticipated performances of Saturdays Hansa Festival of Legends concert was definitely the Hologram of the late Brenda Fassie who was to perform with her son Bongani Fassie.  However, this performance proved to be nothing more but a failure and disappointment to thousands of fans who eagerly awaited for Brenda Fassies “resurrection” on stage.

@MelBala: “I didn’t video it but there was someone/thing at the back of the stage, who we assumed was “Brenda”.  Not one close up shot. Not.

Another fan who goes by the name of Ricky told the Sunday World how deeply disappointed he was.

Ricky: “I was disappointed because I thought it would be positioned in the middle, where everyone could see it.  It looked too far.  As for Kelly Khumalo’s performance, it was not impressive.  But I enjoyed the Soil and Bongani’s performances.”

Some celebrities had a different view with regards to the hologram performance. Vuzu.tv V.J – Dineo Moeketsi was one of the few fans who were thoroughly impressed by the entire performance.

Dineo Moeketsi:  “I was personally blown away by the Fassie Hologram.  It was an incredible moment.”

Ricky Kathilu of Malberton said: “I was disappointed because I thought it would be positioned in the middle, where everyone could see it. It looked too far. As for Kelly Khumalo’s performance, it was not impressive. But I enjoyed the Soil and Bongani’s performances.”

Zaki Ibrahim also peformed a tribute to Lebo Mathosa but was booed off stage due to problems with the sound, artists like The Soil, Teargas and Boom Shaka won the audiences again with their captivating performances and melodic tunes even though technical issues persisted throughout the entire night.

Well then this was a rather UN-legendary concert don’t you think?
