Rumours recently emerged that artist NaakMusiQ was engaged, and he has now come out to address them.
Popular entertainment blogger Musa Khawula recently went on social media to say that Naak was engaged to his doctor girlfriend Robin Leigh. But as the congratulations began to pour in, Naak stopped the train abruptly when he called Musa out on the lie.
“Fake News!”, the Generations actor wrote.
Since his response, tweeps have been trolling him and calling him out for denying Robin like that. They think it was unfair to embarrass her in public, after she had made such a declaration.
Other tweeps thought he was denying her completely, and he set the record straight. It is only the engagement that he would like to deny, but it is true that they are in a relationship. In a now deleted tweet, he further clarified that she had bought the ring with her own money, and that she was allowed to do with it as she pleased, and wear it on whatever finger she wanted to. He asked tweeps to butt out of their business, as whether or not they are engaged concerns nobody but him and Robin.
“Stop this, she didn’t reveal sh*t. Neither did she make any announcement, neither is it any of your business, to be honest.”
“She got that ring with her own money. Where she puts it is her choice. Stay in your lane. WTF!” he wrote.
Fans are now predicting doom for the relationship seeing as Naak had no qualms about denying her so loudly in public. They think that her posting a misleading image like that, knowing people would infer an engagement, means that she is hinting that she wants him to put a ring on it. The fact that he is so vehement about not committing to her does not bode well for their relationship going forward.
This comes only a few months after he had revealed his bae for all of the world to see. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he gushed over her, calling their relationship “a fortunate stroke of serendipity”. He broke ladies’ hearts across the country with the reveal, as he is one of Mzansi’s most popular heartthrobs.
The singer’s booking charges were recently revealed, setting tongues wagging across Mzansi. Many wondered whether, for an artist who hasn’t had a hit song in quite some time, he can attract a big enough crowd to ask for R25,000, excluding his accommodation and transport, and that of three other members of his road crew.
It looks like 2022 is already poised to be a big year for Naak. He is set to have a boxing match against Cassper Nyovest on 8th April, for which fans of both sides are very excited about.
It seems like Naak does not appreciate unverified claims being published about it, and who would? It remains to be seen how Robin feels about the public denial, which would hurt for most people, but perhaps he wants to do it on his own terms when he is ready.
