Last week Wednesday, 1 September, Shudu took to Instagram to share with us that her book, Shudu Finds her Magic is officially in stores across the country.

She said, ✨"Shudu finds her magic is officially out!✨ I’m so excited to announce that we’re launching the book today. For every book sold one will be donated to @childlinesa and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group @sadag_official , who will help children with issues such as bullying and depression - and a host of other mental health struggles.

"Copies will also be given to literacy organizations like
@biblionefsouthafrica which donate books to schools and libraries to help foster the love of reading.
This will form part of my
@missworld beauty with a purpose campaign.
The book will be available in stores from tomorrow morning at all leading outlets nationwide!"

Shudu's book is specifically for children aged between 4 and 12 years and is available in 6 languages. The book is inspired by Shudu’s childhood and the bullying she encountered when she moved to a new province and a new school.

Speaking about her book on Instagram, Shudu said: “Here are some moments in your life which you dream about but then to see it in real life, something tangible, something to hold. Now, that is something! I am filled with so much pride and joy to present this book authored by myself with beautiful illustrations by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne.

A piece of my heart captured on a page, written especially for kids. A story of struggles and hope. Of falling down and getting back up and of the incredible journey we call life! I hope that through my story you will find comfort in the fact that you are not alone, that you matter, that the world needs you!

"None of us are perfect, we were never meant to be and that’s what makes us so special."

Shudu will be representing South Africa in the Miss World beauty pageant on December 16 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico. According to Conan Daily, "If she wins, she will be the United Kingdom-based international beauty pageant’s fourth titleholder from South Africa following the coronation of Penelope Coelen in 1958, Anneline Kriel in 1974 and Rolene Strauss in 2014".
