Stoan Seate this week marked his first time trending on social media. However, it was not for good reasons as the Kwaito legend in his own right rubbed many of the public the wrong way when he insulted those who believed in the National Shutdown spearheaded by the Economic Freedom Fighters.

As reported:
Stoan ruffled more than a few feathers when he took to Twitter during this past National Shutdown spearheaded by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and posted, “F*ck EFF.” Safe to say that in light of his comments, he got cooked by social media users.
However, instead of deleting the tweet, it seems that Stoan has stood ten toes deep in his sentiments as he has attempted to explain his stance.
Stoan tries to explain the “f*ck EFF” statement
As Stoan was getting cooked on social media for his lack of impactful music, his alleged corrupt affiliation with the ruling party and his failed relationship with Thandiswa Mazwai. It seems that as much as he stated that he was unbothered. It does seem that the backlash did get to him.
This is as he took to Twitter to share a video explaining why he tweeted what he tweeted. In the lengthy video, Stoan explains himself by sharing that:“Ba nthoga, ba nthoga byanong [they are swearing at me, they are swearing at me] like I’m not supposed to have an opinion. A politically intolerant condition. Bo Sol Phenduka bari I’m getting cooked, cooked by who osa faga bitsa yami [who has done nothing for me]?... Others mentioning characters I’ve played, I mean god damn bro, try something harder!”
During this time, his daughter with Thandiswa Mazwai, Malaika, had “teased” her father on social media only to take it back suggesting that she is a daddy’s girl. However, it seems that despite being a daddy’s girl both daughter and father did not celebrate her recent milestone together.
Did Stoan miss his daughter’s graduation?
Malaika Mazwai is 22 years old and the daughter of the Kwaito legends who recently celebrated graduating from the leading local film, television, and performing arts institution AFDA with a Bachelor of Arts in Motion Picture Medium. The young aspiring filmmaker on the day of her graduation took to social media to share her journey of graduating.
While she did not share which of her parents were there with her, her mother Thandiswa did take to her own social media to show that she was there every step of the way. Moreover, Malaika, following the events of her graduation took to social media to thank her grandmother, her mothers but not her father for being there for her throughout her tertiary journey.
Stoan was not thanked during this time. Moreover, Stoan himself did not even take the time to publicly congratulate his daughter on this milestone. A fact which is surprising considering that he spent the better part of the beginning of the week on social media trolling those that trolled him for his offensive tweet directed at EFF supporters and members of the public who endorsed the National Shutdown.
