Celebrations are in order for former Metro FM news anchor Relebogile Mabotja after winning Best Commercial News Bulletin Reader at the SA Radio awards.

After joining the radio station in April 2019, Relebogile was surprisingly dropped from Metro's line-up this year, when it announced it's annual lineup shakeup.

Relebogile's exit from the station was quite the shock as she had just joined the station after being on Radio 2000.

Her rather short stay at the urban radio station saw her move from one to show to the other. When she joined she was apart of the morning breakfast slot alongside DJ Fresh's #FreshBreakfast show and then hosted the show after DJ Fresh's dramatic exit from the show.

Relebogile was then moved to the afternoon drive show  The Kings Suite with Siphesihle "Sphectacula" Ngwenya and Lebogang "DJ Naves" Naves.

Funnyman Loyiso Madinga
hosted the 2020 edition of the Radio Awards from the backdrop of his home.

When Relebogile's win was announced, many, including her former workplace, Metro FM took to social media to congratulate her.

The station's congratulatory message was filled with eyebrow-raising comments, with one even from DJ Fresh who asked really, after you fired her?
