Mzansi's latest hot drama series Umlilo airs this evening on e.tv. The show, which follows the lives of a polygamous family, stars young actors like Nomzamo Mbatha, Omuhle Gela and Thato Molamu. We caught up with Thatho and the former Generations star gave us a heads up as to out what viewers can expect from the show.

Speaking to ZAlebs, Thato said: "What you can expect from Thato is what you've been seeing. Great work, a guy who just loves what he does. I'm also working with a great cast, you've got Hamilton Dlamini whom I've admired in theatre for many years." The series is appartently filled with a lot of twists and turns and there are elements of deceit, love, corruption and  lust.

Thato explained: "It's a lot of things that you find in life, which you probably deal with every day..." He also gave us some info on his character. "TK is a young boy from a well-off family, he's in the logistics business. He's a mover and shaker, the guy who gets the deals, but there's a certain turning point in the story which I think will interest a lot of people. It is the greatest betrayal by any friend."

It's great to see Thato taking on other roles and it's exciting to see him grow. Speaking on why he took this role, he said: "As an actor you want to do different roles and if a new opportunity presents itself take it." We don't doubt that he'll deliver, especially because people will be keeping a close eye on the actor, who was fired from Generations last year.

He said people should watch Umlilo because it deals with polygamy. He added: "It never gets discussed. There's a lot of things in the black culture that we practice a lot. Sometimes it's not understood by the Western world and I think it's always good for us to educate our people."

He added that the series will spark up conversations and debate. "Debate is what's needed. We don't do enough of that in this country, that's why we don't really tolerate one another."

Catch the show on e.tv tonight at 9pm.
