Present on the day of the launch and on the panel to take questions were Sjava, Black Coffee and DJ Tira, all Kwa-Zula Natal natives and the MC for the evening was none other than Somizi himself

"SPOTTED: @RealBlackCoffee @DJTira & Sjava About to take questions from guests & media about the launch of Kwazulu Natal Entertainment Awards. #KgopoloReports #KZNEA"

The Kwazulu Natal Entertainment Awards will be held on 15th of December 2020 at the Durban International Convention Centre, where the provinces top achievers will be awarded achievement trophies and cash prizes. All category winners will reportedly walk away with R100 000 and the overall winner R500 000 in cold hard cash.

After all the formalities of the launch, Black Coffee and DJ Tira promised to do what they know best, entertain the crowd with a performance at the official after-party. Attendees couldn't wait in excitement.

"A performance from @RealBlackCoffee and @DJTira at the after party? Looking forward to it. #KZNEA"

"Obviaaas what are entertainment awards without the OGs for the game!?
@RealBlackCoffee x @DJTira are here at the launch! #KZNEA"

Some fans were relieved to learn that Sjava was also part of this awards show, he has been keeping a low profile in these streets because of his on-going battle with Lady Zamar after her rape accusations. His last sighting in public was at a performance in Pretoria at a club called Propaganda and he lasted thanked the attendees in a Tweet.

"Thank you to everyone that came through izolo in Pretoria And thank you to Propaganda for having me it was extra special I appreciate it."

Sjava has always maintained his innocence and even released a statement to clear the air regarding the rape accusations but also apologise for the hurt he has caused.

"The reason for doing this video is because I want to clear the air on the ongoing rumours and speculations with everything going on in my life. The reason I have been silent was because we are not allowed to speak about it as it is an ongoing case,"

Most of his fans appreciated Black Coffee and DJ Tira for not turning their backs on Sjava, especially during his darkest hours. It is no doubt that he has been shunned by society even though he hasn't been found guilty of raping anyone.

"Thank you DJ Coffee for this. Sjava needs all of us all. He's down but not out. IsiZulu sithi indoda ingawa namhlanje kusasa iphinde ivuke. Shout out to Makoya @DJTira for always coming in when he's needed the most."

We look forward to this new awards show, which will focus on artists from the KZN only and we hope that other provinces also create similar ones.
