While her travels started with the drama between herself and her cousin and former reality television co-star Pinky Girl. It seems that Matheba is now in her "business and money-bags" era as the House of BNG owner makes strides in establishing herself as a fashion mogul.

Bonang x Steve Madden part two will include handbags

Taking to her Instagram stories, Bonang Matheba shared her second day at the Steve Madden International headquarters. During her second day at the Steve Madden offices, she had the pleasure of actually meeting Steve Madden himself as she shared a video of the two of them meeting for the first time.
But more importantly, Matheba was more open as to the details of the continuation of her collaboration with the brand. The ZAlebs confirmed that this time around she has more control in terms of the making of her second collaboration with the brand.

Not only is she able to choose the materials, but she is also able to choose the style and designs she wants included in her collaboration. More than that, Matheba confirmed that this collaboration will include handbags and will be ready to drop in time for the spring/summer seasons in South Africa.
Bonang dabbling in handbags is nothing new to the star. This is as her first venture into fashion during her early days was through selling handbags. This was back in 2010, which at time, the SowetanLive had shared details on her venture by sharing in part that:

“In March the darling of television and budding businesswoman launched a  handbag label called Baby  Star. Matheba has teamed up with London-based and Botswana-born fashion designer Koketso Chiepe.

She described her bag range as a high-end collection “for upwardly mobile women who are not afraid to celebrate their femininity through style and colour”. The cowboy-inspired range is  made in Cape Town.”
But as Matheba’s stardom rose and the matter of distribution continued to plague the projected success of her bag line. It seems that Baby Star fell back and Matheba focussed her efforts on ventures that actually made her money. But with her extended collaboration with Steve Madden, it seems that it is only a matter of time until the revamped and more widely available collection will be ready for her fans and the general public to consume.

Moreover, it will be interesting to see if there are any of her fellow ZAlebs that will support her release. This is as her first collaboration did not have a ZAlebs-influenced marketing campaign. A fact which is not surprising considering the tumultuous on-and-off again friendship that Matheba has had. Whether it is Boity, Lorna Maseko or Nadia Nakai, and many more which make the list endless.
