Our deepest condolences to Choreographer and TV presenter Bontle Modiselle. The former club 808 presenter is mourning.
"My baby is no more. My heart is so broken 💔. I try to get through a sentence without crying because the thought of me writing this out to or about you makes no sense to me," Bontle wrote on Instagram announcing that one of her dancers and Assistant Choreographer Kesia Jeftha is no more.
She said she is still struggling to come to terms with the passing of the young lady. Bontle said this is a great loss to the dance community, and Kesia's family and friends.
She added that if she knew that their last dance, prayers, laughs, and words were final, she would have done it all harder and better. "A wave of disbelief keeps hitting me because I’m in great denial. It’ll be this way for a long time. I don’t know when it will settle but right now, I’m accepting that maybe it isn’t my place to understand it but to come to terms with what is.
"I don’t like it at all, in fact, I hate it but we’re here now. God give us all the strength to see this through, even with all the never-ending questions," she wrote.
In her lengthy post, Bontle also revealed that Kesia was gearing up to debut her music career. She said they spoke about everything and shared plans, ideas, hopes, and dreams. "It’s gonna be weird without you but Thank you. Thank you for everything! Now dance your way to your maker, who will receive you in the same warmth and embrace your hugs gave. We will meet again, and when that day comes, I can’t wait to dance with you. I love you so so much @kesiaj_bossie. Bossie babe," she concluded.
Bontle launched her dance studio In November last year in Maboneng and officially opened earlier this year.
Announcing the good news on Instagram, she wrote: “Guys! Your girl has officially opened her own damn dance studio!... I am so proud of my career, everything I have achieved, and all of the incredible milestones I have had along the way – but this moment is a real highlight for me."
She said she always felt like teaching is her calling, and she is going to use the studio to teach and share her passion.
She revealed that this is a dream come true. “Creating a home for dance, and growing the community that has given me so much is honestly a dream come true. I’ve cried many tears and I’m still in disbelief, but it’s real. I couldn’t be prouder to start this journey with @hallmark_house_hotel and @steynent.”
Bontle has since shared a couple of videos on her socials and her YouTube channel giving her fans a sneak peek.
