Actress Charlize Theron did not anticipate the controversy she has sparked following her statement about the Afrikaans language. Theron eluded that the language is basically useless as there are only 44 people who speak it now.

Reportedly, in an interview Charlize Theron highlighted that her language is slowly dying and it is not a very helpful one either. While Theron has received her flowers from scores of South Africans, the Afrikaans people are certainly not jumping for joy at the news.
Theron is a big time Hollywood actress and her statement has really hit home to scores of Afrikaans speaking people here in South Africa.

The Afrikaans speaking people were found shaking in their boots after their language was blasted by Charlize Theron. The Afrikaans people have come in their number to rubbish Theron's bold statement that suggested that only 44 people speak Afrikaans, especially in South Africa.
